FaceBook Giving Away £1000

The CEO of a large online gaming network has set up a compeition that gives away £1000 to a random FaceBook member. I'm not sure why, I'm guessing it's to promote the game or to promote future online game releases.

The rules are pretty simple, you join the group, invite 15 friends, and your in with a chance. I joined the group hoping to get my sticky fingers on £1000. I think I'd get myself a new computer if I was to win anything, or a holiday.

It looks like a pretty fresh group, I became aware of it on a gaming forum after it was posted/announced by the CEO herself. The first giveaway is on Wednesday, 12th, August 2009.

I've seen a few things like this in the past. FaceBook seems to be a great viral advertising platform.
